Hey, this is what I came up with for things we need to look for the web slides...
Design Cost - designer
maintainence
web site hosting hosts (this might be going into too much detail though - I really think David just wants a ballpark figure to show that we've understood there'll be a cost etc)
Search Engine Optimisation / Visability - discovery of our web page
cost of hiring someone to improve the optimisation
metadata - need to research how this works.
RSS Feeds - good to include, improve the customer experience, update customers about any new books uploaded to the site, any new art events posted....
Customer Database - based on online purchases (and customer log ins?) allows us to gather research and sales material easily.
- Details of how this data is stored / searched / used - maybe geographically specific newsletters sent out by postcode?
Marketing Potential of Website - links and tags with other websites - make the website more visible, links with the online art community - possibly have an online arts forum as part of the website? - if we do go for any of these ideas they would have to be included on the site map (Isy)
- Also plain just selling books online, through the website.
Usability Testing - of the website itself. Say we've done it, 5 people, ensures we've got an easy to navigate site and has everything people are looking for.
